Fried Mini Idli / | Masala Idli Fry | Leftover Idli Recipe

The idlis are fried till they are crispy and then tossed in curry leaves , chopped onions, capsicum and South Indian spices.

Idli is a traditional South Indian Breakfast made by steaming a batter consisting of fermented  lentils and rice.

It is considered as one among the best nutritious and light food as steaming preserves most of the nutrients. Also the fermentation process breaks down the starches so that the Idlis Normally a day old refrigerated idlis are more suited as they have less tendency to break when frying and absorb less oil. are more easily metabolized by the body. My mom always used leftover idlis in fried idlis with fresh veggies . 


Ingredients:

Idli (mini)-1small bowl

Chopped green chillies

Fresh curry leaves 8-10

Rai - 1 tsp

Salt as per taste 

Chopped onion1

Refined oil1 tsp

Chopped capsicum 1 

Chopped gajar ( optional) 

Include vegetables as per your taste. 


Instructions:

•Heat oil in a pan add rai seeds, curry leaves and chopped onions and green chillies. 

•if you have large sized idli cut in to small pieces, here I am using mini idlis. 

•when onion colour change in to golden brown add salt as per your taste and chopped vegetables. ( capsicum, gajar, beans, cabage) . 

•Toss sometimes add then add idli peices in to pan and toss well. Fried Idli ready serve hot with coconut chutney or sauce. If you want sprinkle some chat masala.
